ABOUT LYNNE COVE, MA, RCC
I have been working in the field of Wellness for over 30 years.
- For over 20 years I worked in the community as a registered nurse
- I designed and taught fitness classes for North and West Vancouver Parks and Recreation Commission
- trained and supervised fitness leaders
- taught weight control
- taught relaxation and imagery
- taught stress management courses
- On February 1, 2007, I resigned in good standing from the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia
- For 5 years I was employed by Simon Fraser University as the Supervisor of Fitness. I was responsible for
- the rapidly growing fitness programme for the University's faculty, staff, and students.
- In addition I designed and implemented the SFU Fitness Leadership Training and an innovative whole person wellness programme for the staff and faculty
- I worked with the North Shore Keep Well Board for 6 years, helping to
- develop and coordinate a community-based Wellness Programme for older adults on the North Shore.
- Drop-In programmes were established in three locations
- Serviced over 200 seniors in the community.
- Recruited over 90 volunteers to run the Drop-In programmes where seniors were helping seniors
- For 12 years and until May 2005 I worked as a Counsellor at SHARE Family and Community Services.
- I counselled in the alcohol and drug programme
- I was responsible for two prevention community development programmes, one for substance-affected women and the other for older adults in the community.
- In addition, I offered supervision of masters-level university students during their 8-12 month Internship program.
- I have 20 years experience teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Working out of the North Shore Neighbourhood House in North Vancouver, I teach every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as every Wednesday and Friday at John Braithwaite Community Centre. Please see T'ai Chi/Qi Gong page for current schedules.

I have been in private practice since 1986. I see clients on an individual basis. In addition I offer many wellness workshops in the community. Topics include:- Building Self Esteem,

20 YEARS EXPERIENCE TEACHING Tai Chi and Qi Gong
Since 1986, I have also been teaching T'ai Chi and Qi Gong. I teach beginner, intermediate and advanced classes in Yang Style; Cheng Man-ch'ing, Five Section, Simplified 24 and 48 postures, Classical 108, Application, and Sword, and offers week-end retreats
